Sentence Case Converter Online — Free Tool

Paste a paragraph typed in all caps or with random capitals and get readable prose back: only the first letter of each sentence stays upper case, everything else drops to lower case. Sentence boundaries are found at periods, question marks and exclamation marks. Handy when you clean up a comment copied from a chat, or a CRM export where sales reps shouted in caps. Nothing leaves the tab — the rewrite happens in your own browser. See also: capitalize every word in a headline, strip shouting caps from a paragraph, set the heading in all caps.

How to use it

  1. Paste your paragraph into the «Text» box — the placeholder shows HELLO WORLD. THIS IS A TEST.
  2. Press «Convert» and each sentence gets a capital opener while the rest goes lower case.
  3. Read the «Result» box and check spots where a period sat inside an abbreviation or a decimal number.
  4. Hit «Copy» to put the finished text on your clipboard and paste it back into the document.
  5. For long texts work paragraph by paragraph so missing periods are easy to spot and fix.

FAQ

How do I fix a comment that was typed entirely in caps?

Paste it into the input box and press the convert button. The tool lower-cases everything, then raises the first letter of each sentence back to upper case. You only have to fix proper nouns and acronyms by hand afterwards.

Which characters count as a sentence break?

A period, a question mark or an exclamation mark followed by a space. Colons, semicolons and bare line breaks are not treated as breaks, so the next letter stays lower case. Add the missing punctuation before converting if your text relies on line breaks alone.

Are proper nouns and acronyms preserved?

No. The conversion is purely mechanical and has no dictionary, so NASA becomes nasa and London becomes london unless the word opens a sentence. Restore those by hand — there are usually only a handful and they stand out in the output box.

Does it handle Cyrillic and other non-Latin scripts?

Yes. Case mapping is done by the browser using Unicode rules, so Cyrillic, Greek and accented Latin letters convert correctly. Scripts without letter case, such as Chinese or Arabic, are simply passed through unchanged.

Is there a size limit on the text I can paste?

There is no hard limit; the tab's memory is the only constraint. Tens of thousands of characters convert instantly. A very large document may freeze the tab briefly, so split it into chunks and run them one after another.

Where does my text go?

Nowhere. The page makes no network request with your content — the rewrite runs in a script on the page itself, and the result stays in the output box until you close the tab, which discards it.

Does the page work on a phone?

Yes. Long-press to paste into the top box, tap the convert button, then the copy button. The result lands on the iOS or Android clipboard and can be pasted into any app. Note that the interface labels themselves are in Russian.
